The first rap album available on J&C!

Ever since I heard Signor Benedick's "El Negro" a couple of years ago, this guy's been on my radar. Through Facebook chats, Decoder interviews and general silliness we got there. Most often associated with Deathbomb Arc - a label I can only aspire to - Signor Benedick the Moor (real name Christian McLaurin) is producing some of the most exciting rap music of the modern age. A member of True Neutral Crew, McLaurin switches with ease between screamy garage hardcore and some of the most dexterous and literate wordplay in the game.

"Garage Raps Vol.1" represents a stripping back of the Moor's glossy widescreen "El Negro" and a detour into dark, cobwebbed corners. The themes are less gigantic, more personal - not the glory of the burgeoning universe here, but the inner recesses of an artist's whirring mind. Frenetic, eclectic and overall electrifying, "Garage Raps Vol.1" presents Signor Benedick the Moor in his most intense and idiosyncratic creative mode.
